The first question almost every high-end vehicle owner asks us is the same: "What's it going to run me?"
It's a fair question. It's also the one nobody local seems to answer honestly.
Here's the truth — not the bait-and-switch numbers you see in Instagram ads. Just a real breakdown of what paint protection film actually costs on a high-end vehicle in Stuart, FL, and what separates a real PPF install from a quick wrap-job.
Why there's no flat-rate price on high-end PPF
A performance sedan is not a sports car. A sports car is not a luxury SUV. A luxury SUV is not a coupe. The body lines, the panel geometry, the access points, the badge work, the front-clip complexity — every vehicle is its own puzzle.
Pricing comes down to four real variables:
- How much of the car you're covering. A track pack (front bumper, partial hood, fenders, mirrors, A-pillars) is one tier. Full front (everything forward of the windshield, plus rockers) is another. Full vehicle wrap — every painted panel — is a different category entirely.
- Which film you're installing. We're brand-authorized on XPEL, SunTek, Ceramic Pro Kavaca, Autobahn, and Legend Films. They are not the same product. Self-healing speed, gloss enhancement, top-coat hydrophobicity, warranty length — all different. XPEL Ultimate Plus is the industry benchmark for a reason, but the right film depends on the vehicle and how you drive it.
- The complexity of the vehicle. A luxury SUV with sculpted bumpers, aggressive aero elements, and exposed trim takes longer to wrap cleanly than a simpler sedan. More cuts, more tucks, more time on the table.
- The condition of the paint when it arrives. PPF goes on perfect paint or it locks in imperfections forever. If the car shows up with swirls or dealer compounding marks, we correct first — that's a separate line item, but it's not optional on this tier of vehicle.
Real ranges for the Treasure Coast market
We won't print exact dollar figures because we won't quote a car we haven't seen. But for context:
- Track pack PPF on most high-end vehicles: low-to-mid four figures.
- Full front PPF: mid four figures, sometimes higher for complex panels.
- Full vehicle PPF on a sports car, performance sedan, or luxury SUV: well into five figures, depending on film tier and paint condition.
That sounds steep until you price a respray on a high-end car. A repainted hood — done correctly, color-matched, blended — costs more than full-front PPF on most cars. PPF is the cheaper insurance policy, and it's the one that doesn't leave the car with a CARFAX paint record.
What you're actually paying for
A real PPF install isn't film cost plus labor. It's:
- Plotter cutting plus custom hand adjustments. Software-cut patterns are the starting point. On complex panel geometry, hand-trimming and custom relief cuts are where the install actually wins or fails.
- Decontamination and prep. Iron removal, clay decon, panel inspection, edge prep. Skip this and the film lifts in six months.
- A clean install environment. Dust under PPF is forever. We install in a controlled bay — not a parking lot, not a tent.
- Wrap-and-tuck finish work. No visible edges where it matters. No relief cuts in the middle of a panel. This takes hours per panel.
- Documentation. Stage-by-stage photos sent to your phone throughout the install, plus warranty registration with the film manufacturer.
The shops quoting half what we quote are skipping at least three of those steps. If you want to understand the gap, read what actually separates a real detail shop from the rest.
Why dealer PPF packages are a different conversation
Most high-end dealerships offer "PPF" as part of a delivery package. Lift the corner of one and you'll usually see the same story: pre-cut kit, fast install, partial coverage, often the cheap end of the film line. It's better than nothing — barely. And it's almost always priced higher than what you'd pay a real shop because it's bundled into the financing where you stop seeing it.
If you're taking delivery soon, push back on the dealer package. Get the car as-is and bring it to a shop that does this for a living.
